Safe, licensed care in a warm home setting.
Safety is built into the space, the routines, and the way we care for children every day. From childproofing and emergency planning to sick policies and safe sleep, we keep important safety routines clear and consistent.

Why this matters
A licensed home daycare gives families a smaller, more personal environment while still operating within California child care licensing standards.
Safety is part of the daily rhythm.
Childproofed home
Safety locks, outlet covers, secured hazardous items, and daycare spaces designed for toddlers.
Health routines
Handwashing, regular sanitizing, diaper checks, sick policies, medication procedures, and immunization requirements.
Emergency ready
Smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguisher, first aid kits, emergency contacts, and drills.
Active supervision
Children are supervised by sight or hearing, with extra attention during meals, transitions, naps, and outdoor play.
Clear illness rules protect the whole group.
Children must stay home or be picked up when they have symptoms that make group care unsafe or uncomfortable.
- Fever of 101°F or higher
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Unexplained rash
- Contagious symptoms or illness
- Lice, until treated according to policy
Pickup and return
If a child becomes sick during the day, parents must arrange pickup within one hour.
Children may return 24 hours after symptoms have subsided, consistent with our handbook policy.
Suggested image: nap area, fitted crib sheet setup, or quiet rest space.
Rest is part of wellness too.
Quiet time is built into the day from 12:15 PM to 2:15 PM. Younger children rest in designated safe sleeping spaces, while older children may rest or use quiet activities.
- Each child has a designated rest space
- Infants sleep on their backs in pack-and-plays
- Parents provide appropriate bedding such as a fitted crib sheet
- Children are supervised during rest and quiet time
Medication, immunizations, and pickup rules need to be clear.
Health information, immunization records, allergies, emergency plans, and medication instructions must be current and clear before care begins.
- Age-appropriate immunizations are required by California law
- Prescription medication requires written permission and instructions
- Non-prescription medication requires parental permission
- Children are released only to authorized pickup adults
Safety cameras
Internal safety cameras are used for provider monitoring only and are not live-streamed to families.
