Overview of our health and safety measures, sick policies, emergency procedures, and trainings.

Our Approach to Safety

We take safety seriously — not just in emergencies, but in the small, everyday moments too. From childproofed outlets to secure drop-offs, every part of our space and routine is designed with your child’s well-being in mind.

Marvelous Kids Daycare is a licensed large family daycare operating under California’s Title 22 child care regulations. Our entire team is trained, alert, and genuinely invested in keeping kids safe and happy.

Daily Safety Practices

  • 🚪 Locked entry during program hours
  • 🔌 Cabinet locks, outlet covers, and non-slip rugs
  • 🧯 Up-to-date smoke detectors, carbon monoxide monitors, and fire extinguishers
  • 📝 Quarterly fire and earthquake drills (kids think it’s a game — we know better)

Health & Hygiene

  • 🧼 Toys, tables, and high-touch surfaces sanitized daily
  • 🫧 Fragrance-free wipes and toddler-safe cleaning products
  • 🖐️ Handwashing before/after meals, after bathroom use, and outdoor play

We also maintain a clean and clutter-free space that allows for safe movement, exploration, and supervised activities.

Wellness & Sick Policy

We love having your child here — but only when they’re feeling well enough to fully participate.

  • 💡 Fever over 101°F, vomiting, diarrhea, or an unexplained rash? We’ll call you for pickup.
  • ✅ Children may return 24 hours after symptoms subside without medication.
  • 🪮 Lice must be treated twice before returning to care.

We’ll always notify you promptly and work with you to make the return-to-care process smooth and supportive.

Allergies & Medications

We are a nut-free facility and take allergy protocols very seriously.

  • 📋 Prescription medications require written permission and instructions
  • 💊 Over-the-counter medications require a signed authorization form and will be administered per label instructions
  • 🚨 Emergency plans are in place for children with severe allergies

CPR, First Aid, and Ongoing Training

All staff are certified in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid, with regular renewals and continuing education in early childhood wellness, SIDS prevention, and child passenger safety. We stay ready — even if we hope to never need it.

In Case of Emergency

If an emergency arises, we’ll:

  1. Provide first aid and call 911 if needed
  2. Notify you immediately via phone or Lillio
  3. Use our approved emergency contacts if you’re unavailable

Your child’s safety is never an afterthought here — it’s the foundation of everything we do.
